Mumblings

Christmas

The Agee family was planning on driving to Missouri for the holidays this year. It would have been the first time in several years. But alas, the weather canceled those plans. The thought of driving thirty miles an hour for seventeen hundred miles through a blizzard just wasn’t my idea of a good time.

I’m at peace with our decision, though I will miss the opportunity to be with my extended family. I also find myself thinking of my family members who have gone on ahead and I’m longing for a holiday when we’ll all be together again.

I’m reminded God feels the same way about me and this Christmas season we’re celebrating is His solution to the longing He feels to be with His family. In case you wonder some time, that’s you and me.

Christmas, the celebration of God taking the form of man, leads inevitably to Easter, the celebration of God’s sacrifice for our sins. The end result, one day we will celebrate the birth and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus. My Bible says it going to be quite a celebration.

Until then, from all of us at KTSY, let me wish you and yours a very, merry Christmas.

Babies, Babies, Babies

Babies. Babies. Babies.  Is there anything better than babies?

If you haven’t visited the KTSY website recently, let me encourage you to stop by to see pictures of the baby.  Michelle and Brian welcomed Addison Alivia to their family and the KTSY Family just before Thanksgiving. Her favorite uncle, Unka Mike, was at the hospital the next morning to get in some early lovin’.  She is beautiful, of course, just like all of my half dozen precious nieces, even the teenage ones that seem to roll their eyes more when I’m around.

For those who must know the details, she was eighteen inches long and weighed six pounds, five ounces.  She and Michelle are doing very well and are home from the hospital. Michelle hopes to be back in the office as soon as possible.  She claims she has already had sixteen weeks of maternity leave and is anxious to be back.

You can see more pictures at Chaplain Brian’s Picasa picture site with a lot of pictures of baby Addison. Enjoy.
