I’m Not All of That

Pastor Mike at His Best

One, two, three, come on a sing with me,
Four, five, six & seven,
Pastor Mike is gonna lead you towards Heaven.

Needless to say, I was stunned. And I’ll have to admit, just a bit pleased my words were having an impact on at least some of the college-age staff and the one hundred and five Junior Campers present during my week as camp pastor. The kids sang the chorus all week long. The rafting guides said the kids even sang it for hours as they floated down the Salmon River each day.

Really?

You and I both know I’m not all of that. And yet, here I sit, basking in the warmth of having a song written in my honor. Now you can see why I always approach my week at camp with fear and trembling. If you would like to hear the entire song and not just the chorus, you can click the link below. Or better still, call Jerry and ask him to play it on the air. Tell him it’s on the server’s shared drive in the KTSY folder. But don’t tell him who sent you. There could be repercussions.

Rockin’ Junior Campers

Thanks to the staff of Camp Ida Haven in McCall and to a great big pile of Junior Campers. You guys rock!

Alone in the Office

I’m alone in the office this morning, answering the phones and trying to get some work done, while everyone else is either on vacation or at the Veggie Tales premier. Seems fair since I was out of the office last week. Kind of interesting, though, to go from 105 screaming ten year olds last week at camp to the silence of any empty office.

It’s not very often I’m alone in the office anymore. It makes me think about the early days, when I was most always alone in the office. I don’t miss those days much anymore. It’s good to have the noise and activity, knowing that good things are happening in people lives as a result.

I had a great time at camp last week.  Thanks for asking. I worried unnecessarily, which is usually the case. That was real noise and activity. To witness open hearts and minds was a pleasure. The staff even wrote me a little song.  More on that next time.

For KTSY, I’m glad to be sitting in a quiet office and still General Manager Mike Agee.
